Hola,
Last month, a life-altering event unfolded in my lifeβa fateful accident that tested my resilience while reaffirming the existence of unseen forces that work in our favour.
It was a day like any other, filled with the usual routines and mundane tasks. As it wound down, I found myself driving along a winding road surrounded by a picturesque landscape. The rain cast its dark shadow on the forest side. Lost in the magic of the moment, I failed to notice the sharp turn that awaited me just around the bend.
In an instant, everything spiralled into chaos. My car skidded across the asphalt, seconds away from flying off the cliff. Time slowed down, and fear gripped my heart as the realisation of my demise set in. My mind became a whirlwind of regret and anxiety. As my life hung on a frayed thread, I fought to wrest control, veering the car with all my strength towards an inevitable collision with a massive oak tree instead.
I'm here, writing this, so I'm still standing. So is the oak. The car was a whole different matter.Β As I sat there, disoriented, trembling, but remarkably unharmed, someone knocked on my window and asked me to step out. The sight took my breath away - my Papa's car was an unrecognizable wreck.Β
I called my brother, and in what seemed like minutes, he and his friends were by my side. As the evening wore on, faces furrowed with concern, and a profound sense of relief stared back at me. Friends, family, and even strangers, their eyes reflecting an overwhelming sense of gratitude for my well-being.
Dazed as I was, I was also overwhelmed by a sense of disappointment in myself (I still am). I lost focus for a second, and it almost cost me my life. I'm told I'm being silly, that between the car and me, they'd pick me any day.
The next day, listening to my angsty rant filled with self-recrimination, my friend told me about the Nova Effectβthe Tragedy of Good Luck. It emphasises the importance of perspective and finding the positives in every experience. Ultimately, everything happens for one's own good, and by adopting this mindset, we can unlock potential and find fulfilment in life.
My friend suggested I should let the love and concern of my close ones be a gentle reminder that life's mishaps, no matter how severe, could be transformed into opportunities for growth and gratitude.Β
Tough ask, but I'm working on it. Thought you might find something for you too.
Yours,
Nikita
