Have you heard of Mofo Gasy? Till a day before writing this Thing, I hadn’t. For those who don’t know, Mofo Gasy is a pancake-like bread, typically had for breakfast or with coffee in Madagascar. While searching for more info on Mofo Gasy, like any curious person would, I happened to come across Romazava, the "national food" of Madagascar. Romazava is a stew, usually made with zebu meat, with mixed greens like Malagasy spinach and pepper leaves.
Searching for more info on Romazava is what brought me to today’s Thing, National Dish, a website that aims to curate recipes of the national foods of each country in the world. I don’t necessarily believe it is an accurate reflection of what truly is the national food for any country. I mean, it has listed Tandoori Chicken as India’s national food.
