There's a persistent fear that life will stop after a certain point is reached. In college, 30 was the age by which I had to achieve everything on my bucket list - including buying a house, travelling the world, and settling down into a neatly packaged career trajectory.
Now, in the year I turn 29, I look back and laugh. Oh, to be young and think so little about the breadth of time.
With experience came the wisdom that life keeps happening and keeps changing, and 30, 40, and 50 mean nothing at the end of the day. Sure, bones turn brittle, skin loses collagen, and cells slowly atrophy. But to be born is to head towards death anyway, but that doesn't mean we should ever stop living.
Life can be enjoyed even after certain preconceived milestone years have passed.
All this philosophising to point you to my new favourite pick me up page on Instagram - Grandma Sheila Y, an 87-year-old living out her dream of becoming a supermodel.
Here's my favourite shoot - highly recommend for fashion tips and life lessons.
