New connections.
Deep connections.
Missed connections.
No, I'm not talking about LinkedIn, although it might feel like it's all the connecting we do these days (no shade; I'm lowkey proud of my 500+ LinkedIn network).Â
We can all agree that the best connections are those forged with real people in fire and blood. But that's not the topic either.
Any guesses? No?
It's word games again.
I'm here to share the joys of NYT's Connections. The rules are simple: four rows, four columns, four groups, four chances. In all, sixteen words to experiment with.
The game is not as simple as it appears at first glance. The link isn't always the most obvious one, and sometimes the categories are alienatingly American (like NFL player names, wtf, even). After a few rounds, though, I did figure out what patterns to look out for.
But wait, NYT is not today's Thing. Rather, it's this kind soul's archive of every connection ever made. And know what? There's a nifty feature to make your own connections, too, and custom puzzles by strangers. Now, these are people I wouldn't mind connecting with on LinkedIn.
I've been trying to make a habit of substituting doomscrolling with this, and I gotta say, it's been a good distraction. 10/10 would recommend, so here I am.
Connect someone with Just One Thing and make their day? Trust me, this is one connection which you'll get right 100%!
