Hi there,
To the Indian GenZ or millennials reading this: do you remember those Vikas story books that were around when we were kids? Single page stories with illustrations and one-line âmoralsâ for every tale. âA friend in need is a friend indeed.â Or âdonât count your chickens before they hatchâ. I miss how simple that shit was.
If only real life was like that.
Youâre likely to find the grown-up versions of these âlife lessonsâ in the discipline of philosophy. But god knows philosophers donât make it easy. Ask Jacques Derrida why he couldnât just write in English, and youâre unlikely to get a satisfying answer (not because heâs dead, but because heâs abstruse).
Philosophers really make you work for it, and sometimes I wonder if itâs worth the effort. In such lazy times, Philosophy Bro does the work for me. Check it out. Best case, you may finally understand what Peter Singer or Heidegger have been going on about. Worst case, at least youâll have a good laugh.
