When I was 16 and life wasn't just a click away, I stumbled upon Frida Kahlo and it was love at first sight. Her art and unique spirit had me hooked. I did what any teenager would do - I obsessively hunted down every piece of information I could find - her story, her politics, her sexuality, her identity, her tumultuous relationship with Diego Rivera.

Fast forward a few years, and I still can't get enough of Frida! Her work was prescient and so ahead of its time that it would even give even NASA a run for its money. Her ability to capture the complexities of the human experience has constantly left me in awe. I haven't gotten over my teenage obsession with her and her life, and my search for all things Frida continues. 

This brings me to my thing for today. Back in the year 2000, when we were all still at the mercy of dial-up internet, and AOL was still a thing, Daniela Falini, a fan of Frida's, launched an amatorial site to share her unconventional take on Frida's work. She shares her love for Frida with the world, religiously updating the site with everything Frida - from her exhibitions to books written about her - all while keeping a close eye on how her influence extends to other artistic realms like theatre, dance, cinema, painting, and poetry.

If you're even remotely intrigued by Frida Kahlo's life and artwork, this site is a rabbit hole you cannot miss. It is a worthy monument to a trailblazing icon who left an indelible mark on the world she left behind.
