Hello,
If you’ve been to Goa, you have some good memories of the place, don’t you? I do too. A lot of them involve doing not very much. Sleeping in, drinking beer and chatting while the days quickly go by. Or driving around with my cousin, listening to music and laughing about nothing as we bask in all the natural beauty the state has to offer.
I also have more eventful Goa memories. Meeting great people (including all my Bees and Kablers! We met for the first time in Goa). Filling our days with visits to beaches, restaurants, bars, museums, artsy events, plantations and whatnot.
Whether I’ve had many things to do or very few, Goa days have always been characterised by quiet contentment. Susegad, as the locals call it. A sentiment I’d be wise to carry with me even when I’m not in Goa.
And I kinda can with this podcast.
Susegad Stories from Goa captures Goa through the voices of Goans themselves. Whether it’s the relationship between Goan monsoons and the state’s drinking culture, its beaches and the sea turtles who come to nest there, or the markets, museums and food - I like to learn a little more about this sunshine state even when I can’t be there.
Give the podcast a listen so that you, too, can get in on this relaxed pace of life wherever you are.
