Hi you,
For many years, I’ve been that person who needs absolute pin-drop silence in order to get anything done. Colleagues sniffling from a cold, friends slurping down their coffee, someone breathing too loudly - all of it used to bother me.
When I was last workcation-ing, however, I ended up working almost exclusively out of cafés. Challenging at first, but I like to think I got kinda good at it. Actively turning my attention away from all the chatter and distractions around me - even enjoying it like all those lofi playlists that people use to study/work - and tuning in to whatever it was I was reading or writing.
I’m back home, and it’s… quiet. Dare I say, I sometimes kind of miss the chitter-chatter and flurry of activity around me.
On such days, Ambient Chaos comes to the rescue. Dolly has already shared Neal Agarwal’s other projects with you, but this one has been too fun not to share.
If it’s not a coffee shop on a rainy day you want as the soundscape to your workday, maybe you'd like some ambient office sounds to pretend like you don’t actually work from home. Or maybe you prefer the sounds of a zombie invasion or nuclear siren. Whatever floats your boat. I won't judge.
Know someone who works from home and doesn’t exactly love it? Send Just One Thing their way, brighten their day.
Good one, I like the sound of the night owl or crickets, giving me the feeling that the whole city is asleep, and I can quietly focus on my work/ reading.
