In a surprising turn of events, I've joined Badminton classes.
Although I remain committed to a sedentary life, I can no longer deny the benefits of physical movement (mainly courtesy of my mother, whose passionate and relentless advocacy of exercise would make Big Pharma executives see red).
Badminton has always been an enjoyable activity for me, but I'm starting to see that the "badminton" I've been playing with friends all these years is more like a free trial version than the real deal. Actual badminton requires a whole range of movement that I've previously avoided at all costs.
But now, under the guidance of a friendly but firm coach, I must coax my limbs to live up to at least half their potential.Â
If you're looking for a way to bring more movement into your life but you don't know which sport to dabble in, here's a fun little BBC quiz developed by sports scientists from Loughborough University to help you out.Â
According to the quiz, I'm apparently suited for cycling, but I'll stick to badminton for now.Â

Hockey or squash were recommended for me 😅
