"I wish I wasn't a girl" is sadly a common refrain I've been subjected to, from school to college to workplace.
And certainly, the awful periods, lack of freedom, the weight of societal expectations, strict definitions of gender expression, and inability to go on a spontaneous nightly jaunt all give the impression that the almighty powers that be had it out for us.
But girlhood is a spectrum, and is crazy and scary and in moments, so, so fulfilling. Do you dare tell me that drunken girls hyping each other up in bathrooms is not the pinnacle of human experience?
In the past year, we've encountered Girl Dinner, Girl Math, and now, today's Thing - Girl Museum.
This is a shrine to girls and girlhood throughout history, across cultures. To all the girls in my life who've debated rejecting their girlhood - I see you.Â
I request you to see yourself too. And when you need help, wander over to this site to perceive how others have been in your place at some point in time, near and far.
