Hello, 2024,
I hope this letter finds you well, and I hope you find it in you to keep us well in these upcoming months. We haven't been off to a good start, but we resist regardless.
I speak for everybody when I say let's try not to repeat the clusterfuck that has been life for the past decade, years, months, days.
Yes, I understand that you're not at fault - it's money-hungry power seekers who subsist on greed and not much else - but we can manifest something together.
We're kicking off 2024 at Just One Thing by sending our hopes into the universe, inextricably tied to a Thing.
I'll be starting us off - my wish for 2024 is to seek joy in the everyday. Put in a word for me, will you?
Things are messy, and even you can't predict how life will go, so I'll make my commute to work into a quest, find fairy tales in dust motes, and turn my reading chair into a portal. So not a day goes by where I feel like nothing extraordinary happened.
This lovely account by Alice Chance illustrates it best.
We've been forced to believe that we have minimal impact on the world, but even changing our thought patterns foils some destructive asshole's plan in ways we might not understand.Â
So, 2024, I hope you're up for being the year we keep our imagination wild.Â
Let's try to make it a good one.
