Hey there,
We've written about Reddit communities several times before on JOT. Most notably, I (#humblebrag) wrote about r/coolguides; Nikita wrote about how #oddlysatisfying originated and about assholes and other dark places. Analina introduced us to Cats With Jobs. The point of all this is to say that even if you didn't know of Reddit before signing up for Just One Thing, by now, you might have made a passing acquaintance with that most wonderful of places for discovering a community you love.
And today, I give you one more such community. The subject of this post might lead you to believe that I'm talking about AskScience, the forum to be on to get answers to all your scientific and science-minded queries. But no, today's Thing is a little more out there.
ShittyAskScience is the place for all the less-scientific questions you might have about physics, biology, the state of the world, mathematics, evolution, and pretty much any topic you can think of. And since the name of the subreddit does a very good job of explaining what it does, I won't bother detailing it any more. Instead, I leave you with some of my favourite questions there... questions you didn't even know you had.
Like this question in Earth Science:
Or this one about basic physiology:
Or this one tagged under Electromagnetism:
These examples should help you understand why you absolutely need to bookmark this post and this subreddit for all the edification you didn't know you needed.
Go ahead. Log on. Go bonkers.
Baaa.
Ha ha ha ha!!! Good one..
